Writing on Twitter, journalist Bruno Salomon, Paris-Saint Germain correspondent for Radio France, has shared what he has been told ‘internally’ regarding the rumours of Tottenham Hotspur talks for Mauricio Pochettino.

The Lowdown: Tottenham in talks for Pochettino…?

This morning, huge news emerged regarding the future of Pochettino and Tottenham’s hunt for a new manager.

Indeed, The Athletic first reported that Spurs and their former favourite are locked in talks over a sensational return to the club and Pochettino is attracted by the idea of a return to north London.

However, it will be very difficult to pull off given the 49-year-old still has one year left on his PSG deal and the Ligue 1 giants do not want the upheaval of another manager change.

Writing on Twitter, Salomon, PSG correspondent for Radio France, has claimed he has been told ‘internally’ that the Pochettino to Spurs rumours are in fact ‘false’.

“On this rumour of Pochettino who could not stay at PSG (because of the desire for a return to Tottenham or the freshness of relations with Leonardo or even departure at the request of Doha), I am clearly told internally that it is false,” he explained (translated via Twitter).

The Verdict: Blow for Tottenham…?

Given the noise surrounding Pochettino’s possible return to Spurs, information from this reporter could be a slight dampener on the mood in north London.

However, he is just one source and the managerial landscape can change very quickly – with Lilywhites supporters possibly hoping that the Argentine’s return to north London is indeed on the cards.

It has been said that Spurs want a manager in the image of Pochettino, so who better than the man himself?

If he can secure a sensational reunion with the Lilywhites, it’s safe to say the appointment would be big, but don’t get your hopes up just yet Tottenham fans.

Atual campeão da Copinha, o Flamengo vai em busca do tetra neste ano. O Rubro-Negro terá uma equipe muito modificada em relação àquela que levantou a taça no ano passado. O zagueiro Dener é um dos remanescentes do time que superou o Corinthians no Pacaembu.

O Flamengo está no grupo 23, com sede em São Caetano do Sul (SP). O primeiro duelo do Rubro-Negro será contra o Central-PE, na próxima quarta-feira. According to The Athletic, Wolves are interested in hiring Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard as their new boss.

The Lowdown: Gerrard impresses

Gerrard has done a fantastic job with the Gers this campaign. He led the Ibrox outfit to their first major trophy in 10 years, and even took them through an unbeaten campaign in the Premiership.

As such, the Gers’ performances have linked Gerrard with the exit door, with Tottenham being urged to hire the former Liverpool captain (Football Insider). Now, another Premier League outfit are said to be in pursuit.

The Latest: Wolves want Gerrard

Nuno Espirito Santo recently confirmed he would be leaving Wolves at the end of the season (BBC), meaning the Midlands outfit need to replace him.

This latest report suggests Gerrard is amongst the candidates for the role, although Bruno Lage is seemingly the front runner.

The Verdict: He can do better

Given how the Gers have done this campaign, there is bound to be plenty of interest in Gerrard’s services. At some point, it feels likely that he will return to England, and a club such as Wolves would be able to offer him an interesting project and funds to spend. They would also likely be able to offer him an increase on the £2.5m a year (or £48,000 a week) he earns in Glasgow (sportekz.com).

At the moment, though, it makes no sense for him to leave.

Winning the Premiership means the Gers have qualified for the third qualifying round of the Champions League. Competing in that tournament, as well as trying to win trophies domestically, is too big a carrot for Gerrard to ignore. For now, he should stay put unless another Champions League outfit comes calling.

Taking to Twitter to give an update on the current situation, Smyth offered Whites fans some encouragement, claiming Liverpool ‘definitely’ have interest but ‘have never made contact’ regarding signing the Brazilian.

While he does also admit that the Reds will definitely be interested in the idea of snapping up the winger, any potential deal seems a long way off, adding ‘you have to imagine’ a huge bid would be required.

The Verdict: Exciting

As Smyth alludes to, only a massive offer will be able to prise Raphinha away from Leeds this summer – whether or not Liverpool have those funds remans to be seen.

In an ideal world, the Whites star would remain at the club for many years to come, but unless the team are pushing for European football every season, that seems unlikely.

Raphinha looks to have an incredibly high ceiling, so the sad likelihood is that he will end up moving on to a more successful club.

That said, if the Whites can get a few more good seasons out of him and then cash in for huge profit that would have to be considered a success, so Smyth’s claim that any immediate approach seems unlikely is hugely encouraging.

محمد النني كان انضم إلى آرسنال قبل 6 سنوات قادمًا من بازل السويسري مقابل 12 مليون يورو.

النني مُنذ عامين لا يلعب بشكل مُنتظم مع الفريق وخرج في 2019 مُعارًا إلى بشكتاش التركي، وبعد العودة من الإعارة شارك كأساسي في الموسم الماضي، ولكن هذا الموسم بالكاد شارك في مباريات معدودة.

لاعب وسط الأهلي السابق يتواجد كذلك على رادار أكثر من فريق تركي، إذ ترغب أندية بشكتاش وفناربخشة فضلًا عن جالطة سراي في التعاقد معه.

يُذكر أن النني هذا الموسم مع آرسنال، شارك في 10 مباريات فقط بمُختلف المسابقات، ولم يسجل أي أهداف وصنع هدفا وحيدا.
