أعرب ياسين براهيمي لاعب منتخب الجزائر عن سعادته بالتتويج بلقب كأس العرب بعد الفوز على تونس في المباراة التي أقيمت بالأمس.

وساهم براهيمي في فوز الجزائر بالمباراة النهائية التي أقيمت في استاد البيت بالدوحة في قطر بعد أن نجح في تسجيل الهدف الثاني لفريقه، كما حصل على جائزة أفضل لاعب في البطولة.

وقال ياسين براهيمي خلال لقاء عبر قناة “أون تايم سبورت”: “كانت مباراة صعبة اليوم وسعيد بالتتويج لأن هذا كان هدفنا، والحمد لله على الفوز بجائزة أفضل لاعب وهي بفضل الفريق بأكمله لولاهم لما حصلت عليها”.

واختتم: “لقد واجهنا افضل فرق في هذه البطولة، مصر وتونس والمغرب وقطر، كانت مباريات صعبة، ولذلك نحن فخورين بالبطولة”.

Raphinha’s performances even led to Bamford raving about him after the game, saying on Sky Sports: “I think, to be honest, he has been a steal for Leeds. I am surprised. As soon as he came in, you saw him in training, you know sometimes with players whether they are good or they are top class, and he really was. He stood out straightaway.

“I am surprised that bigger teams, more established Premier League teams I should say, haven’t taken a punt on him because he really is someone special, and he is young.”

And it’s perhaps that realisation that they might have missed out on something “special”, that reports in recent days have suggested reigning Premier League champions Liverpool have got their eye on Raphinha, and that their scouts have been blown away by him this season.

It’s been quite the debut campaign for the former Rennes man, and he’s been a real game-changer for Bielsa’s side in their first campaign back in the top-flight.

He ranks third for goals, and second for his assists among his teammates, and his willingness to take players on and try and make things happen for his side are reflected by the fact he averages the most amount of dribbles of any Leeds player with 1.5 per game.

Raphinha’s added a real X-factor to the way Leeds play, an unpredictability that embarrassed Cahill on Monday night, and has been tormenting opposition defences all season.

He’s been an absolute revelation for Bielsa.

O Sport venceu mais uma na tarde deste domingo pelo Hexagonal Final do Campeonato Pernambucano. Aston Villa could unearth their next Jack Grealish-like success story in 17-year-old starlet Carney Chukwuemeka.

The teenager may be more of a household name amongst Villa fans after making the bench for Dean Smith’s side’s Premier League clash against Leicester last week, and though he didn’t come on to make his first-team debut, there is real excitement about the kind of talent that he has.

Chukwuemeka is the prodigy that Christian Purslow went so far as to describe as the best player for his age last year, and there have been glowing reports about his abilities.

One scout told The Athletic: “He’s the best player Villa have got coming through. He can do everything in the midfield area and there are a lot of clubs monitoring his situation at Villa.”

And just recently on the 1874 podcast, Gregg Evans spoke about just how highly thought of he is in and around the club, revealing that “he’s the one everybody’s talking about” – the journalist even went so far as to describe him as “the real deal”.

Villa were able to tie down the teenager to a new contract late last year, and that was a major coup given that The Athletic had previously reported the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham were all looking to lure him away.

Predominantly a central or attacking midfielder, Chukwuemeka can also play slightly deeper as he has done for the U23s this season at Premier League 2 level, and certainly has the creative chops to match a young Grealish.

In just 19 games for Villa’s U18s, he’d racked up six assists, and despite only turning 17 back in October, is already a fully-fledged member of the club’s U23s set up now.

It’s a real testament to just how quickly he is progressing through the ranks at Villa, and Smith’s decision to give him some exposure to life in the first-team by naming him on the bench against the Foxes last time out is a real indication that he features highly in the manager’s plans.

Grealish is where he is now because he was given an opportunity to impress. Chukwuemeka has got the talent, now it’s up to Smith to really harness it.

Many Arsenal fans were left fuming at the display of Gabriel despite their 3-2 win over Benfica in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday night.

Two goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, including one right at the death, and a fierce strike from Kieran Tierney ensured that it was Mikel Arteta’s men that went through into the next round after the Portuguese club were gifted two goals on a plate by Dani Ceballos.

One was a wonderful free kick but the central midfield player, currently on loan from Real Madrid, dangled a leg to commit a foul on the edge of the box, while Benfica then took the lead when his backwards header fell too short for Bernd Leno to come and collect.

Nonetheless, while Ceballos had a night to forget, the performance of Gabriel also flattered to deceive several members of the Emirates Stadium faithful.

The former Lille man lost out on nine of his duels, the most lost out of any player to have set foot on the pitch, as he also lost possession of the ball no fewer than 12 times, earning him a very measly 6.2 overall rating on Sofascore, the lowest out of any of his teammates.
