Speaking to Sport TV, as reported by Sky Sports News, Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has hinted at the club’s next move surrounding loanee Gedson Fernandes – with the Portuguese boss claiming Spurs will be open to letting him return to Benfica in January for the good of the player. 

Fernandes, who has found game time difficult to come by under his compatriot since signing for Tottenham on loan in January, could now return to his parent club despite possessing a ‘big reputation’.

Indeed, described as a player in the mould of Spurs fan favourite Moussa Dembele, Fernandes hasn’t been given a chance to replicate the Belgian’s prowess – falling short of working his way into Mourinho’s plans.

Mourinho hints at Fernandes stance

Now, speaking to Portuguese broadcaster Sport TV, Mourinho has confirmed that Spurs will not stand in Benfica’s way as Fernandes’ season-long loan deal shortly comes to an end.

The Tottenham boss, while ‘comfortable’ with letting him stay in north London, concedes that it is likely he will depart back to Benfica as he cannot guarantee him regular playing time.

“For me, it is never a problem, but a solution. Having him in the squad, even if he is not called up and not playing, is an extremely comfortable situation,” explained Mourinho to the press.

“I will never be the one to push him or say that I don’t want him here but I understand the situation of the kid and Benfica.

“If the club wants to end the relationship here, we will be here to collaborate, because we want the good of the player. Benfica has the power to decide and will be accepted by us.”

Described as a ‘raw talent’ by Spurs correspondent Alasdair Gold, Tottenham could have potentially had a star in the making – but the player also once labelled as a potential ‘next Sissoko’ could be set to part company due to a lack of action this season.

According to The Reading Chronicle, the Royals are striving to offload a string of players in the upcoming winter market as they work toward raising as much as possible to strengthen Veljko Paunovic’s promotion-chasing side.

Financial Fair Play concerns have hit the Play-Off contending outfit hard, with Reading only able to make January signings on loan or for minimal fees despite Renhe Sports Management wishing to inject further funds into the fourth-placed club.

The EFL are in discussions over scrapping FFP but Reading are considering the possibility of selling some of their hot prospects, with Omar Richards and Olise two potential options.

Olise has earned vast admirers with his performances for Reading of late with Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund mentioned, while previous reports have placed Liverpool, Everton, Chelsea and Manchester City on the scene alongside Arsenal, Wolves and Leeds United.

Reading would value Olise at around £20million if they were to sell the 18-year-old who has started 11 of his 15 Championship appearances this season, providing two goals and five assists from a versatile forward role.

Ancelotti’s answer?

Everton Director of Football Brands moving to sign Olise in January would solve Ancelotti’s offensive crisis, having deemed it “impossible” to replace Richarlison with a like-for-like option among those already at Goodison Park.

Olise has shown this season how he can offer a threat at the top of the pitch but without being pigeonholed into a set role, with Reading boss Paunovic deploying the teen star at right-wing on six occasions, on the left five times and in an attacking midfield role twice.

The France U18 international has met his rotating role with no issue, too, having struck home goals from either flank and offering assists in every position played this term.

His ability to play a central midfield role will also stand out to Ancelotti as Everton have struggled to create chances from the engine room this season, with Abdoulaye Doucoure the leading figure for key passes (nine) but having only created the same number of big chances as Tom Davies, Alex Iwobi and Gylfi Sigurdsson (one) and boasting just one assist, per SofaScore.

Former Reading boss Mark Bowen was full of praise for Olise and his potential when the 18-year-old broke through at the Madejski Stadium last term, as well, noting: “He is such a talented player and he can do anything in his career.

“Michael is a massively talented player. I said to him at the final whistle: ‘I know I can trust you now’, because of the shift of work he put in. Defensively, he showed he was years ahead of his time.”

وأكد كيروش أنه فضل إراحة 4 لاعبين لحمايتهم من إنذار إضافي: “هناك 4 لاعبين لم يشاركوا بسبب البطاقة الصفراء لأننا نحتاجهم في المباريات المقبلة”.

وأشاد كيروش بالبدلاء: “أمر جيد أن يدخل البدلاء بحالة مميزة ويستطيعون تغيير الأداء وهذا يدل أنهم في كامل تركيزهم”.

وانتقل كيروش للحديث عن المرحلة المقبلة: “سنعمل على التحضير بشكل مختلف للمرحلة المقبلة، لأنها الأهم، لم نحقق أي شيء بعد”.

ورفض كيروش التعليق على عدم لعب منتخب مصر أي مباراة ودية في شهر يونيو: “هذا ليس عملي، ولا يهمني أن أعود للماضي، لا أرغب في الحديث عن شيء من الماضي ونركز في المستقبل”.

وعن رهانه على بعض الأسماء الشابة، أجاب كيروش: “راهنت على إمام عاشور ومروان حمدي وأحمد ياسين، الكل سيكون له فرصة للمشاركة وإثبات نفسه وسيكون لهم دور معنا”.

وكشف كيروش أنه تعامل مع المباراة على أنها تحضيرية: “المباراة كانت فرصة ذهبية للتحضير لكأس العرب وإعطاء فرصة لبعض الشباب للشعور بإحساس اللعب الدولي وأن هناك 90 مليونًا يقومون بمتابعته”.

واختتم كيروش تصريحاته: “لا أكره الانتقاد لأنه يكون في بعض الأحيان سبيل لتصحيح المسار، حينما يكون انتقاد إيجابي وبناء فإننا سنحاول الاستفادة منه”.

Sadio Mane produced a shocking performance in Liverpool’s surprise 2-0 defeat against Atalanta in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The former Southampton man has earned a reputation during his time at Anfield for being able to bully his opponents and win the ball back high up the pitch, but he was very much second-best against Atalanta.

Of the 13 ground duels he was involved in, he was able to win just six; whilst he also failed to win any of his three aerial duels, meaning he won just 37.5% of his duels on the night.

To complete a shocking display, Mane managed to lose possession on no fewer than 19 occasions, with it clear that the Reds were beaten by the better team on the evening.

Klopp described the winger as the “complete player” in a press conference during the summer but considering he has now failed to find the back of the net in his last three Liverpool games, it appears that he is in something of a slump.

However, Mane has still had an excellent start to the Premier League season, having averaged a superb 7.72 rating across his eight appearances in the top-flight, so hopefully, it won’t be long until he ends his mini drought and gets his name back on the scoresheet.

A Caixa Econômica Federal será a patrocinadora máster dos maiores rivais de Minas Gerais. Em publicação divulgada nesta terça-feira no Diário Oficial, o banco estatal sacramentou o acordo com Atlético-MG e Cruzeiro, que receberão R$ 12,5 milhões por ano pelo patrocínio.

Ambos os clubes negociavam com a Caixa desde o ano passado. Nos primeiros dias de 2016, o presidente do Cruzeiro, Gilvan de Pinho Tavares, disse que o acordo estava sacramentado, mas em valores superiores aos oficializados. O Atlético-MG também mostrava-se otimista com o acordo.

Em nota, a presidente da Caixa, Miriam Belchior, disse que a inclusão dos dois mineiros ajudará para o desenvolvimento do esporte e contribuirá para a visibilidade da marca:

“O apoio ao futebol, assim como a outras modalidades esportivas, aumenta a visibilidade da nossa marca e contribui com o desenvolvimento do esporte. Os patrocínios da CAIXA ao futebol já obedecem aos critérios estabelecidos no Profut, além de outras exigências legais que definem a comprovação de regularidade fiscal dos clube”.

O acordo com o banco estatal não significará a perda dos atuais patrocínios másters para os respectivos clubes. A MRV Engenharia, com contrato com o Galo, e a empresta Supermercados BH, com vínculo com o Cruzeiro, mudarão de lugar.

De acordo com a “Máquina do Esporte”, o acerto com a Caixa fez o Atlético-MG romper com a Cemil, que ocupava as omoplatas. O local será reservado ao banco estatal, a pedido do novo patrocínio máster.

Outro clube mineiro que estava em negociações com a Caixa, o América-MG já utiliza um tom pessimista quanto a um acordo. Alencar da Silveira Júnior, um dos presidentes do Coelho, alerta:

– Não sei se iremos fechar com a Caixa. Se acontecer, só se for para pagar bem. Se vierem com ‘migalhas’, não aceitaremos, só agradeceremos a oportunidade.

A Caixa também confirmou os patrocínios com Flamengo, Atlético-PR, Coritiba, Sport, Vitória, Chapecoense, Figueirense e CRB. O patrocínio com o Corinthians está em fase de negociação, segundo o banco.
