O Athletiba começou bem movimentado, com as equipes indo para o ataque e deixando o confronto aberto. O Coritiba aproveitou erro na saída de bola e, em troca rápida de passes, Alef Manga bateu rasteiro de dentro da área para abrir o placar aos 11 minutos.

Os mandantes responderam rápido. Jader cruzou, Henrique dividiu bola com Pablo e Terans aproveitou, bateu de primeira, igualando o confronto. O Coxa quase ficou à frente com cabeçada de Igor Paixão.

Mais tarde, Muralha bateu falta, após desvio de Igor Paixão, Alef Manga ganhou de Thiago Heleno e bateu com categoria, recolocando os visitantes na frente.

A segunda etapa começou mais lenta. Aos 15′, após escanteio, Rômulo desviou e a bola bateu em Thonny Anderson. Os jogadores reclamaram de pênalti para o CAP, mas o juiz explicou que foi na cintura. Depois, Abner cruzou e Pablo obrigou Muralha a fazer boa defesa.

There is nothing worse than having loads of points left on the bench while your starting squad fails to perform. However, the ‘Bench Boost’ chip allows you to earn those points at one point during the season.

Should you activate it before the gameweek, the points scored from your benched players will be included in your total points score, with many FPL bosses waiting until later in the season for a double gameweek to activate the chip.

Here are the players everyone has picked for their fantasy teams this year.

Had enough of your team and want to change it up completely for one gameweek only? Then the ‘Free Hit’ chip is what you’re after.

If you have a number of injuries, suspensions or tricky-looking fixtures in your squad, then you can make unlimited transfers without losing points for one gameweek.

Again, double gameweeks are a decent time to deploy the Free Hit chip. Alternatively, some weeks see only a few teams in action, usually when cup commitments clash with Premier League weekends. A Free Hit could come to your rescue if most of your squad becomes unavailable.

Triple Captain

As you’d expect, the ‘Triple Captain’ chip results in your captain scoring triple points for one gameweek only.

Man City superstar Erling Haaland has been the go-to skipper for FPL bosses so far in 2024/25, scoring a number of hat-tricks early in the season.

However, holding on to your Triple Captain chip for the final stages of the campaign can also pay off, especially if there is an eye-catching double gameweek for your star man.

The ‘Wildcard’ chip is arguably one of the most important in FPL, with managers getting two to use during the season.

If you’ve had enough of your current squad, using the Wildcard allows you to make unlimited permanent transfers without suffering any points deductions.

Previously, managers would only get one Wildcard chip and one during January. This year, you can now use one before Christmas and one after 29th December.

Assistant Manager

The new Assistant Manager chip – formerly teased as the Mystery Chip – now allows FPL bosses to use the Premier League’s actual managers to get them more points.

The chip can be activated once from January and your chosen assistant will add to your points in three successive game weeks after becoming live.

However, they will come at a cost and are set to be ranged between £0.5m-£1.5m. Assistant managers will earn points for wins, draws, clean sheets and goals scored, whereas bonus points are on offer if they defeat a team ranked five places higher in the Premier League table.

Cricket South Africa, in association with SuperSport, has announced the launch of a new franchise-based T20 tournament. The first edition of the competition will be played in January 2023, immediately after South Africa’s tour to Australia. For subsequent editions, January has been marked as a dedicated window.According to a CSA release, the tournament will feature overseas players as well, with a player auction to take place at a later date. Each team will be allowed to have up to four overseas players in the XI.A new company formed by CSA and SuperSport will manage the tournament. “The company is looking at a very attractive player salary bill per team that will rival other leagues around the world outside of the IPL,” the release said.The tournament will feature six privately-owned teams, who will play each other twice in a round-robin stage before the top three proceed to the playoffs. In all, 33 matches will be played over three to four weeks.”We are excited by the formation of something this fresh and invigorating, which also offers the opportunity for private investment into the franchises,” CSA CEO Pholetsi Moseki said. “CSA has already received interest from a number of potential local and international investors.”Marc Jury, the CEO of SuperSport, said: “We are delighted to invest in a product that will change the face of South African cricket. There is an early-year gap in the calendar, so the timing is ideal.”SuperSport’s support for the league is crucial to getting it going, as they are CSA’s domestic broadcast partner. Without their buy-in, CSA was unable to launch the Global T20 League in 2017 and was forced to shelve plans for a franchise T20 competition.SuperSport had argued that they were entitled to screen the Global T20 League as per their contractual agreement to show all cricket played in South Africa, but CSA disagreed and said the tournament constituted new business. They were unable to secure another broadcaster for it, which ultimately resulted in the tournament never taking place.CSA then launched the Mzansi Super League in 2018 and gave the broadcast rights to the SABC for a minimal fee. The MSL featured eight teams and ran for two years, with CSA footing the entire bill, which amounted to over R100 million per edition. It was not played in 2020, 2021 or 2022, ostensibly because of the Covid-19 pandemic, but also because CSA could no longer afford it. With SuperSport’s buy-in, they can now launch a T20 league.The competition is expected to inject more funds into cricket in South Africa, thereby helping the game grow in the country.

O reforço chegou ao Tricolor paulista em dezembro de 2021, para a temporada desta ano. Em poucas partidas, o goleiro assumiu a titularidade que, até então, era ocupada por Tiago Volpi.

Durante a entrevista, Jandrei reforçou que seu principal foco é buscar títulos com a camisa do São Paulo. O atleta ainda destacou o bom desempenho da equipe na estreia da Copa Sul-Americana e do Campeonato Brasileiro, ambas com vitória e vantagem de gols. Então a nossa pretensão é títulos, igual a gente sempre conversa, a gente vai buscar um passo de cada vez. Temos três competições, estreamos bem nas duas nesta semana. Então, a gente tem três competições que a gente pode chegar longe, então a gente vai traçar a estratégia, o Rogério e a comissão, para que a gente consiga ir bem nas competições e buscar títulos com a camisa do São Paulo – afirmou.

Porém, o goleiro alegou que os jogadores “não devem ser vaidosos” ao responder sobre o rodízio de jogadores que segue sendo adotado por Ceni. Com este modo de jogo, todos os jogadores conseguiram chance em campo, e neste meio tempo, foram descobertas algumas revelações, como Pablo Maia e Marquinhos. De acordo com Jandrei, todos devem trabalhar em conjunto e buscar seu espaço na equipe.

– É um grupo que não tem vaidade, todo mundo que estar jogando, todo mundo quer seu espaço e para isso está todo mundo buscando, trabalhando, é um grupo onde a gente se ajuda, a gente conversa, busca puxar o companheiro para cima, independente de quem for, seja jovem ou mais experiente. A gente tenta trazer todo mundo para junto, todo mundo motivado, buscando uma melhora, para que a gente consiga uma sequência de bons resultados, é isso, para que o grupo não tenha a vaidade, continuar jogando e não pensar como ‘ah tenho essa história no futebol, então não posso estar no banco’, estamos todos no mesmo barco, que está jogando e quem não, estamos jogando todos para cima, para que a gente consiga nossos objetivos durante o ano – destacou.

Jandrei atuou por 14 partidas, com dez vitórias, três empates e uma derrota. Ao todo, foram nove gols sofridos.

Leeds United are back in action in the Championship for the second time in 2025 this afternoon as they travel away from West Yorkshire to take on Hull City.

The Whites head into this match off the back of a disappointing 1-1 draw at Elland Road against Blackburn Rovers on New Year’s Day on Wednesday.

Daniel Farke’s side appeared to be on course for all three points after Pascal Struijk’s 88th-minute penalty, only for Danny Batth to equalise for the away team just 90 seconds later.

The German head coach, with this game coming just three days later, may decide to make some changes to his starting XI, and one player who should come back in is Ethan Ampadu.

Why Ethan Ampadu should start

Firstly, the Wales international, who only recently returned from a lengthy absence with a knee injury, is the club captain and this suggests that he brings quality leadership on the pitch that will be needed if Leeds are to mount a successful promotion push.

Also, Ampadu brings energy and strength to the middle of the park, which is something that Joe Rothwell did not provide with his performance last time out.

The English midfielder, who started next to Ao Tanaka, ended the game with zero duels won, zero tackles, zero interceptions, and only one duel contested.

Ampadu, meanwhile, has averaged 2.8 tackles and interceptions per game and won 5.4 duels per match, at a success rate of 69%, which suggests that he could offer significantly more to the team out of possession.

The former Chelsea man is not the only player who should be drafted into the starting line-up, as Farke should also bring Largie Ramazani back into the fold.

Why Largie Ramazani should start

The Belgian forward was an unused substitute against Blackburn after he struggled in his start against Derby, which was his first start since returning from an ankle injury.

Ramazani missed a ‘big chance’ to open the scoring and only created one chance in his time on the pitch, before being substituted for Manor Solomon.

The Leeds whiz, who was described as “explosive” and a counter-attack “weapon” by Jacek Kulig, has shown plenty of signs of quality in a Leeds shirt this season, particularly prior to his injury, though, and should be given another chance to build up his match sharpness.

As you can see in the table above, Ramazani has scored three goals and provided one assist this season, and all of those contributions came in his first eight appearances and six starts.

This shows that the potential is there for the 23-year-old whiz to be an excellent option for Farke in the final third, but he needs game time to build himself back up and that is why he should be unleashed against Hull today.
